Ombre Powder Brows
Ombre Powder Brows is suitable for those who love a defined yet "powdered makeup" look. This technique deposits tiny dots of pigment into the skin that fill in the brow to create a beautiful soft gradient and defined brow! How defined or how soft the brow is can be adjusted based on client's desired look. Two sessions are recommended. Suitable for ANY skin type and will last 1-3 years depending on lifestyle, and health conditions.

Do not have any type of facial 2 weeks prior to the procedure.
-
Do not work out the day of the procedure.
-
Wash your hair the morning of your appointment, healing tattoos cannot get wet for the first 72 hours, so you will need to avoid washing your hair too soon.
After Care Instructions
After care is very important to the appearance and longevity of your new brows.
1. Wipe the treated area with sterile water wipe every hour and apply a thin layer of the aftercare gel hourly until you go to sleep
2. Rinse and gently pat dry day and night starting day 2 onwards until all shedding disappears.
Apply a thin, light coat of ointment 2-4 times a day after washing. Apply a grain-of-rice sized amount of ointment to each eyebrow. Keep it thin and light, just enough to keep the area moisturized. Apply ointment for 5-7 days. Apply nothing else to the procedure area for 5-7 days. NO MAKEUP. NO OTHER MOISTURIZER. NOTHING.
The following must be AVOIDED during all 14 days post brow tattoo procedure:
-
NO heavy exercise for 10 days. Sweat is salt which can affect pigment retention and color! Sweat also contains all kinds of bacteria that can cause infection in the procedure area and we want to avoid that at all costs.
-
Avoid the lake, beach, swimming pool, hot tubs, and sauna for 10 days. During the healing process, do not expose your procedure area to chemicals.
-
Sun tanning or salon tanning. UV/UVA Rays or chemicals as they have been known to cause a shift in color and premature fading.
-
Any laser or chemical treatments or peelings, and/or any creams containing Retin-A or Glycolic acid on the face or neck
-
Performing tasks related to heavy household cleaning such as garage or basement cleaning where there is a lot of airborne debris
-
Drinking alcohol in excess, as it may lead to slow healing of wounds
-
Driving in open air vehicles such as convertibles, boats, bicycles, or motorcycles
-
Touching of the eyebrow area except for when rinsing and applying the post-care gel with a cotton swab.
-
Direct sun exposure should be avoided indefinitely as it can cause the pigment to fade prematurely. After the procedure area is completely healed you may apply sunscreen, but wearing a hat or avoiding direct sun exposure is the best thing you can do to preserve your tattoo.
-
DO NOT take exceptionally hot, steamy, or long showers. Keep your procedure area out of the direct water stream. When rinsing your hair, make sure to lean back into the water, keeping the stream of the shower and shampoo off your face. Only get the procedure area wet at the very end of your shower, and make sure the cleansing is gentle and quick.
-
NO makeup on the healing procedure area for a minimum of 7 days. Makeup and tools used to apply it can contain bacteria and the procedure site needs adequate time to heal to avoid infection. You may apply makeup around the area, but not on top of the procedure site. Example, you may wear eyeliner and mascara with a new brow tattoo, but no eyeshadow up to the brow area and no brow pencil.
-
Some tenderness, redness, itchiness, and even bruising is very normal during the healing process. DO NOT pick, peel, scratch, or exfoliate the treated area. If you remove skin that is not yet healed you may also remove pigment which can cause poor retention, patchy areas, and even scarring or infection. Hands off!
-
Lastly, relax! Don’t stress. Trust the process! The tattoo will lighten, soften, and heal within a matter of days. Follow my aftercare instructions perfectly and you should have zero problems with healing! Complications are extremely rare, especially if aftercare is followed properly.
If you have any unexpected problems with the healing of the skin, please contact us immediately, to discuss further instructions. 714.468.8404
Contact a physician if any signs or symptoms develop such as the following: fever, redness at the site, swelling, tenderness of the procedure site, elevated body temperature, red streaks going from the procedure site towards the heart, and/or any green/yellow discharge that is foul in odor.
What to expect after the procedure
-
Some residual swelling is normal for ALL procedures. Some clients may have no swelling, some may have a lot. Reaction and healing is very different from one client to the next.
-
Dry skin, itching, and tenderness are all very common and normal especially within the first 5-7 days following the procedure. These symptoms will dissipate each day and will vary on an individual basis.
-
You can expect the color to fade and soften 30-50% once healed. The touch-up will enhance any areas that have faded too much. Healing and color retention is specific to each client and their skin type.
-
You will need one follow-up (~ 8 weeks after the initial appointment) to achieve the best result. Some clients may desire or need an additional touch-up which will be subject to an additional fee.
-
It is important to understand that you will need a color boost every 1-3 years to maintain a fresh, natural-looking appearance.
-
If you are out in the sun a lot, use anti-aging products, oily skin creams, chemical peels, or sweat frequently, you will likely need a color boost every 6 months to 1 year.
-
The better you take care of the treated area, the longer it will last.
General healing timeline
Please remember that each person heals at a different rate from the next. This is just a general guideline so you have an idea of what to expect.
-
Day 1-2 Your eyebrows will be approximately 20% darker and bolder looking than they will be when healed. Your skin may be red around the pigment which may make the pigment look darker. There may be some swelling in the area -- this will subside. Don't be concerned if your eyebrows initially appear darker and larger than what you desire, they will change many times throughout the healing process.
-
Day 3 Your eyebrows will begin to itch and will appear thicker. Natural exfoliation will begin which will cause excess pigment surrounding the procedure area to flake off. Do not pick, peel, rub, or otherwise exfoliate yourself. Let the flaking come off naturally.
-
Day 4-5 More flaking and the edges of the strokes will look softer and may even appear to lose some pigment. Do not be concerned with this. As the skin heals, new skin will heal over the pigmented area which will diffuse the stroke lines and color. As the layers of the skin regenerate from the inside out, the pigment will resurface and the color will clarify after about 8 weeks.
